- The main benefit of the ring is that it slides 180 degrees from under the chin, side to side, towards the cheek creating a lateral feel for a horse to follow rather than pulling the chin. The cue does not come from the chin, instead, it applies pressure to the cheek. It makes it very hard for a horse to pull, push or drag the handler around.
