Beeswax Outdoor leather waterproofer protector and sealer

100% natural and eco-friendly. Protects & Seals leather and boots from rain, the sun, snow, salt, wind, humidity, dust, chemicals, mud, and normal wear.Uses: Outdoor gear, outdoor equipment, hiking boots, tramping boots, work boots, camping equipment, mountaineering equipment and garments, golfing, cross country skiing, hunting, fishing, work mans footwear and gloves. Bee Outdoors' waterproofing wax, is a blend of NZ Beeswax, Carnauba wax, and natural plant oils, that work as a protective barrier against water and other elements.Beeswax is a natural lubricant and protects leather from harsh elements, forming a protective wax barrier on the surface of the leather so it lasts longer.Once wet, leather stretches, weakens, and shrinks, and becomes brittle as it dries. The less water absorbed by leather the longer it will last and the more comfortable your feet will be.Application: After cleaning footwear with water, apply Bee Outdoors treatment to the entire shoe, boot, garment or outdoor equipment, paying special attention to the stitching and anywhere the leather has been punctured, to ensure complete protection from weathering elements. Wax polish works best on the seams, as you can put it on extra thick and work it into the seams and stitching. Make sure you also do the inside of your boots as well. Do not dress boots with just oil, as leather items such as tramping boots need to be a bit hardier. Soft, supple hiking boots will not be practical for you in harsh conditions.Reapply Bee Outdoors wax to lubricate as necessary, or after use in severe conditions. For best results let footwear dry for 24 hours before use.Keep your leather as clean as possible - get into the habit of cleaning and reproofing your leather after every outdoor activity. And most importantly... Enjoy! We are very lucky in New Zealand to be able to enjoy these awesome outdoor pursuits.

Leather is a skin with fibers and pores, that requires proper natural lubrication and needs to breathe. Because leather no longer has a body to provide proper natural oils, we must provide these oils for it. The key to extending the useful life of your leather is restoring it with proper oils. Not all “natural” oils are good for leather care. Unfortunately, many products claiming to be conditioners or preservatives are not. They contain harmful chemicals, mink oil, petroleum, pine tar, or alcohol to soften or waterproof leather. They soften by weakening or decomposing the fibers and they waterproof by sealing the pores. They are low priced but definitely not economical when you consider the damage done to fibers, stitching, and glues. Ironically, these “preservatives” actually shorten the useful life of your leather! If an oil or conditioner has a solvent in it, the solvent could also destroy the quality finish. What also really destroys quality leather is mold growing on the leather. It feeds on the fibers, eventually the leather goes dry and powdery similar to dry rot in wood. Just putting on oil will not repair the leather. Our waxes contain pure essential oils which have antimicrobial and antibacterial properties which kill off any mold and mildew.Caring for your good quality boots, tramping gear, garments, footwear or outdoor equipment are an investment that can be expected to last a long time, but only if you take care of them. Natural Beeswax will lengthen and preserve the life of your boots. Benefits of Bee Outdoors: Made in New Zealand and Bee Outdoors is environmentally friendly Contains no silicone - which dries and cracks leather. Silicone-based sprays can be harmful to the glued seams of leather hiking boots Does not contain fluorocarbons or neuro-toxins Does not deteriorate like other products containing animal fat Waterproofing wax prevents water from penetrating leather Lubricates and conditions leather without softening too much Cures onto leather to protect Easy to apply Preserves and lengthens the life of leather Extremely resistant to salt stains and spotting Will not damage seams or welts Will not crack during continual flexing of leather. Does not interfere with the natural breathing of leather.Tips: Re-proof garments and footwear on a regular basis. This is important not just to keep your feet dry, but will keep footwear clean and maintain the leather’s suppleness for improved durability. To help dry wet boots, stuff in some newspaper. This will speed up the process and helps keep the toe box in shape. Do not leave boots to dry next to a fire or other heat source, this dries the leather too fast and often results in cracking, warping or delamination. If you let the mud dry on your boots, it will both leach out the waterproofing and soak into the boot. This slowly destroys leather, and it’s not good for nylon, either.180grams in weight
